Tale of the White Cowl

[Source = Medieval Russia's epics, Chronicle, and tales..... Note: I will be adding this little by little until I get all of it here]

The Tale of the White Cowl opens with the story of Emperor Constantine's illness, which could be cured neither by physicians nor by magicians. One such magician, who was violently opposed to Christianity, advised the emperor that in order to be cured he must bath in the blood of three thousand infants killed expressly for that purpose.
